LETTER TILE STUDIO / FIVE-LETTER SESSION

A five-letter puzzle, arranged as a working board

Open Word Puzzle to enter a valid five-letter word, read tile feedback, and narrow the next guess across a board of six rows.

The board / five columns, six rows

Each board row holds five letter tiles. A submitted guess must contain five letters and pass the editor’s word-list check; the board has a maximum of six submitted guesses.

  • Five tiles form every submitted word
  • The board creates six rows before a session starts
  • A keyboard mirrors feedback for letters already used

The play loop / enter, submit, read

Use the on-screen keyboard or physical letter keys to build a guess. Enter submits it when it is five letters and accepted by the word list; Backspace removes the final letter while the game is active.

01 · PLACE — Fill one row

Letters appear in the active row until it contains five tiles.

02 · CHECK — Submit a valid word

The editor checks the word list before revealing feedback.

03 · REFINE — Use the next row

Read the revealed tiles and use the remaining rows to make the next guess.

Session choice / daily or random

The Daily control starts a word selected for the current date and language. The Random control starts a new game using a randomly selected word for the current language.

DAILY — Date-based selection

Daily mode requests the editor’s daily word for the current date and selected language.

RANDOM — A new random selection

Random mode requests a random word for the selected language and shows Play Again after a finished random session.

FINISH — A daily session closes

After a win or loss in daily mode, the daily control is disabled for that completed session.

Tile key / position, presence, absence

After a submitted word, every tile receives one of three feedback states. The editor first marks exact positions, then marks remaining matching letters as present, and marks the others absent.

CORRECT — Right letter, right position

A cyan tile marks a letter matched at the same position; high contrast uses orange.

PRESENT — Letter found elsewhere

An orange tile marks a matching letter that is not in that position; high contrast uses blue.

ABSENT — No remaining match

A gray tile marks a letter for which no remaining target-letter position was found.

Control desk / settings and hint

The settings dialog exposes Hard Mode, High Contrast Mode, and Sound Effects. Once at least three guesses have been submitted in an active game, the editor also shows a hint control.

HARD MODE — Reuse revealed clues

The next guess must retain exact-position letters from the preceding row and include letters previously marked present.

HIGH CONTRAST — Alternate feedback palette

High contrast changes correct feedback to orange and present feedback to blue in tiles, keys, and shared results.

SOUND — Toggle game sounds

The sound setting controls key, win, and loss sound attempts.

HINT — One unrevealed position

The hint reports the first position not already marked correct when the hint control is available.

Result desk / statistics and sharing

After a win or loss, the statistics dialog can open. It displays games played, win percentage, current and maximum streaks, and a six-slot guess distribution; a finished game also exposes a share action.

COUNTS — Played and won

Games played increments after either result; games won increments after a win.

STREAKS — Current and maximum

A win increases the current streak and can update the maximum; a loss resets the current streak.

SHARE — Emoji tile record

The share action creates a text result with six as the maximum guess count and an emoji grid derived from completed rows.

Reading the session boundaries

  • A guess is submitted only when it has five letters and is accepted by the editor’s word list.
  • The board has six rows; a non-winning sixth submitted guess ends the session and reveals the target word in a message.
  • Hard Mode checks only the preceding submitted row for exact-position and present-letter requirements.
  • Daily mode uses a date-based word function for the selected language; this page does not make a claim about another player’s selection.

Word Puzzle studio notes

How many letters and guesses does a game use?

Each submitted word has five letters, and the board provides up to six submitted guesses.

What do the tile colors mean?

Correct marks a matched letter in the same position, Present marks a matching letter in a different position, and Absent marks no remaining match.

What is the difference between Daily and Random?

Daily requests the editor’s date-based word for the current language. Random starts a game with a randomly selected word for that language.

What does Hard Mode check?

For the preceding submitted row, exact-position letters must stay in position and letters marked present must be included in the next guess.

Which settings are available?

The settings dialog contains Hard Mode, High Contrast Mode, and Sound Effects.

What appears after a game?

The editor can open statistics after a win or loss, and a finished game shows a share action that creates an emoji-grid result.

Take the next row

Open the editor, choose a daily or random session, enter a five-letter word, and let the tile states guide the next row.
