REGION REDACTION DESK / 01
Mark image areas. Apply one clear effect per area.
Choose one JPEG, PNG, or WebP image, place up to 20 rectangular regions, and assign blur, pixelation, or a solid cover to each one. The returned image keeps its decoded raster format for review.
- 01 image per operation
- 20 marked areas
- JPEG · PNG · WebP
The image frame is the coordinate frame
Every area is stored with visible whole-pixel X, Y, width, and height values. Move it, scale it from a corner, or use the numeric fields before you create the result.
Three distinct ways to hide selected detail
The effect belongs to each marked rectangle. A later overlapping rectangle is applied last, so the visible result remains predictable.
01 / BLUR — Blur strength
Use a visible value from 1 to 20 for a softened rectangular area.
02 / PIXELATE — Pixel block size
Use a visible block size from 4 to 64 pixels for a mosaic-like area.
03 / COVER — Solid cover
Place a selected hex color directly over an area when a filled rectangle is appropriate.
From marked area to returned image
The editor keeps the selection state separate from the final processing step so you can review coordinates and effect settings first.
1. Place one source image
Select a JPEG, PNG, or WebP file within the stated byte and pixel limits.
2. Build the marked-area list
Drag to create a rectangle, select it, then set its effect and values. Repeat for each relevant area.
3. Check the returned result
Create the image, read its returned dimensions and format, then inspect the downloaded file where it will be used.
Bounded input and processing checks
The server validates the declared MIME type, matching filename extension, container signature, decoded raster format, pixels, each area, and returned bytes before a result is returned.
- 25 MB — maximum input bytes
- 25 MP — maximum decoded input pixels
- 20 — maximum rectangular areas
- 50 MB — maximum returned output bytes
Review is part of the workflow
Blur and pixelation are visual effects, not a statement about whether content can be reconstructed or accepted for a particular purpose. Check the generated file in its intended setting.
- Compare the returned image with the source
- Confirm every relevant area and selected effect
- Inspect the downloaded file before sharing or publishing
Questions about image redaction
Which effects are available?
Each rectangular area can use blur, pixelation, or a solid color cover.
How many areas can I mark?
One operation accepts up to 20 rectangular areas inside the decoded source image.
Which limits apply?
Input is limited to 25 MB and 25 million pixels. The returned output is limited to 50 MB.
Ready to mark the first area?
Open the editor, choose one supported image, then create and review the areas that need to be obscured.
